Rowan Harriman

   My name is Rowan Andinet Harriman. I was born on June 23rd, 2008, in Ethiopia and lived in an orphanage until I was adopted when I was 18 months old and came to America.  In 2019, I traveled with my family to Ethiopia and helped at an organization called Project Mercy.  I am now 16 and live in Annapolis with my parents, Laura, and Vince. My older brother, Beckett attends college at Georgetown University. 

I began playing the drums when I was 8 years old. I was in a band with my friends from school for several years and had several performances with other bands. Art was always on of my favorite hobbies. I enjoy making many different types of art like drawing cartoons, painting, and sculpting. I enjoy art because it is a good way to express creativity and making the things you imagine real. Basketball is my favorite sport and I have played it since I was very young, and has been something I enjoy doing for a long time. 

    The first school I ever attended was the Naval Academy Primary School. I attended the school for most of my time in elementary school. During that time, I learned and tried a lot of things that I still do today and enjoy most. I attend Annapolis High School's IB Program with a focus on Art.  I hope to attend a great college where i can put my education to work in the arts and media business while also creating my own art and original media content. 

 I have big plans for my life.  My hope is that if I work hard enough in high school, I will be prepared for college and will be accepted at the best ones for my craft.
